Delivering cost-effective FPSO projects while working within the confines of the Brazilian regulatory framework

Brazil is home to more than a third of the world’s floating production, storage and offloading vessels (FPSOs), making it the world’s largest market for FPSOs and also its most attractive. Petroleo Brasileiro (Petrobras), Brazil's NOC, plans to develop the country's sub-salt hydrocarbon resources in the Santos and Campos basins mainly through FPSOs and has earmarked a capex spend of $108.6 billion as part of its 2015-19 Business and Management Plan.

But there have been some setbacks in the Brazilian FPSO markets over the past few years and challenges remain aplenty. The local content requirement for goods and services used in the exploration and development of oil and gas remains one of the main problems with the Brazilian oil and gas regime and adds unsustainable costs and make the sector uncompetitive, leading to cost overruns in many offshore projects.

The FPSO Brazil Congress 2018 will bring in senior stakeholders from Brazilian NOC and IOCs, international oil and gas companies with operations in Brazil, leading FPSO contractors, regulatory experts and consultants. They will be focusing on both marco and operational issues including:

Key Topics Covered:

  • Decommissioning of FPSOs
